Reason For The New Boiler Installation Rotherham

This customer had a boiler and heating system which runs on microbore pipe heating system and open vented which caused a build-up of sludge in the heating system leading to some radiators not working correctly, every time the heating and hot water was switched on it sounded like a train was running through the house. Because of the age of the boiler, some parts were no longer and expensive to repair.

What GGB Heating Solutions Recommended?

We had previously removed a sludge blockage from the pipes on the heating system which was causing issues, so we recommended replacing the open vented system with a system boiler which has the pump built into the boiler, remove the header tank for the heating system to reduce the build-up of sludge in the future and seal the system which works better with the microbore (10mm pipes to the radiators) heating system. In addition to the system alterations, we recommended a Worcester Bosch magnetic system filter and power flush all 14 radiators.

The Boiler Installation

Day 1: When we first arrived, we started by protecting the customers property with dust sheets, then proceed to make the alterations in the airing cupboard to remove the old noisy pump and convert the open vented system to a sealed system including a filling loop to fill the heating system.

Once completed, we removed the existing boiler and installed the new boiler with a new flue, fitted the magnetic filter, wired the boiler, and added Adey Mc3 Cleaner to the system to help breakdown and sludge ready for power flushing on day 2. Once the boiler was operational, we cleaned up.


Day 2: Same as day one we protected the customers property with dustsheets switched the heating on to help the chemicals work more efficiently. Then we connect the power flush machine up to the heating system, once the heating system was up to temperature, we isolated the boiler, the cylinder and all the radiators except the one we were flushing. The we proceed to flush all the radiators individually until all the water was clear. Then we flushed the cylinder by itself and the boiler. Once all the water was running clear we opened all the radiators and cylinder and added Adey MC1 inhibitor and balanced the heating system.

The Results

The results were instant, no more noises like trains running through the house all the radiators warmed up quickly and evenly and there was no black mucky water coming out of the radiators.
